Lucy Cooper is an emerging mixed-media artist who maintains a dedicated studio practice in London, following a studio patronage from Damien Hirst. She holds a First-Class Honours degree in Ceramic and Glass Design and a Master’s degree in Fine Art with Distinction from the University of the Arts London.
Her practice draws upon lived experience and memory, engaging with the spatial and material qualities of geological and coastal formations, such as fjord landscapes, carved inlets, and eroded shorelines. Rather than literal representations, these sites serve as conceptual points of departure for an expressive, process-driven inquiry. A painterly application which marries the rich, contrasting textures of oil paint and pastel beneath structural layers of resin, alongside intaglio printmaking editions reflect her an ongoing fascination with deep time and the enigmatic forms generated by natural systems.
